Lloyd Pownall and his son

Lloyd Pownall was first arrested in Texas for trafficking marijuana. He pled to felony possession and was sentenced to four years probation. While on probation, Mr. Pownall sold three ounces of marijuana to an undercover police officer at a bar in Alabama. Thirty days later Mr. Pownall's home was raided by the undercover officer. Eight pounds of marijuana, scales, baggies, and an assortment of pipes and bongs were confiscated. Mr. Pownall was charged with the distribution and trafficking of marijuana.

The trafficking charge was ultimately dropped, but a jury found Mr. Pownall guilty of distribution. He was sentenced to twenty years in the Alabama state prison system.
