The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and the NORML Foundation are seeking student interns to work in the national office in Washington, DC. Students who support our policy positions, and are looking for a real challenge, should seriously consider gaining some valuable experience working on one of America's most hotly debated public policy issues. Internship Program NORML and the NORML Foundation each have a small professional staff who share an office a couple of blocks from the White House. We frequently depend on the work of interns to expand our effectiveness. Depending on a student's academic pursuits or skills, NORML interns are asked to:

  • conduct research on-line, through Library of Congress and other government agencies;
  • attend press conferences and legislative hearings;
  • manage e-mail;
  • manage and archive all forms of information;
  • help maintain the NORML web site;
  • perform desktop publishing and graphics tasks;
  • help organize conferences, concerts, benefits, seminars and press conferences;
  • provide background information to writers, editors and producers from major media outlets;
  • perform regular office and mailing duties.

NORML does not provide housing or living stipends for our interns, but does provide a $20 weekly transportation stipend (typically in the form of a Metro pass because NORML is conveniently located two blocks from the Metro). For out-of-town students, NORML will try to help interns locate housing opportunities. Please submit a cover letter and resume to: NORML Foundation Attn: Allen St. Pierre 1600 K Street, NW, Suite 501, Washington, DC  20006-2832 email: norml@norml.org For more information call NORML at 202-483-5500.
